Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” are unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Other privileges reportedly provided to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

In August, she was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's private attorney.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” the representative stated in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche attend a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether he had talked about a possible clemency for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the questions by 24 November.
