Much like bad weather swept through the northwest the night before, City overwhelmed Manchester United aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement 3-0 victory for the City coach's side due to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that firmly established their title credentials as they reinforced their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Defeats for Manchester United

This outcome signalled back-to-back league setbacks for the United manager's side for the first time since spring 2024, leaving them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their title hopes hanging by a thread.
