Renowned Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
