Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for a new domestically developed defensive UAV to enhance its aerial protection systems. The first three manufacturers have begun production, with 11 more getting ready to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Combat Situations

These UAVs will be based on a domestically developed technology called “Octopus” engineered to intercept Iranian-made drones. This technology underwent testing in combat and demonstrated effective “at night, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry confirmed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of producing as many as 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Latest Attack on Kyiv Characterized as Deliberate

Volodymyr Zelenskyy characterized Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “intentional, calculated and wicked” after six people were killed and dozens injured in a wave of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv. Alert systems sounded in Kyiv just after 12 AM this past Friday, with Shahed drones quickly detected overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukrainian air defences.

The president stated the nation was targeted by hundreds of UAVs and multiple missiles. Those killed were inside their residences in an apartment building on Kyiv’s left bank during the strike. Numerous of other buildings were damaged, including the Azerbaijani embassy.

Moscow's military were firing hundreds of glide bombs per day, with last month’s average daily usage being approximately 170, based on defence ministry data.

Ukrainian Attacks Target Moscow's Energy Infrastructure

Russia’s maritime terminal of the port city halted for a period oil exports this past Friday – equivalent to 2% of worldwide oil production – after a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Military commanders in Kyiv said its forces had launched Neptune cruise missiles and used various types of attack UAVs in the attack on Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Russia’s second-largest energy company Lukoil said on Friday it is negotiating with interested parties concerning its international holdings following recent restrictions from the UK and the US and failure of an agreement with commodity trader Gunvor. “Final arrangements are to be disclosed once conclusive negotiations have been reached and required authorizations have been obtained,” the company commented.

Ukrainian President Plans Diplomatic Trip to Spanish Capital

Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the city of Madrid, Madrid, next Tuesday to meet with parliament members following his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials disclosed. Zelenskyy will convene with deputies from both chambers of parliament during his visit, an official announcement confirmed.
